The 1/2" shank gives it great stability in the router table, and the bearing rides smoothly along the plywood edge without any chatter. I ran a full sheet of MDF through with oak banding and the finish came out perfectly flush.

I was tired of fighting with peeling laminate edges, so I tried these bits on some MDF shelving. The bearing followed the surface perfectly, leaving a clean, flush cut that really makes the hardwood banding pop. My first project actually looks like professional built-in furniture now.

Set this up with a 1/2" shank on my router table and the hardwood edge came out flush and clean on the first pass, no tear-out on the MDF core. The bearing rides smoothly along the panel, so I didn't have to sand much at all before finishing.
