I was a bit nervous about cutting spline joints by hand, but these bits cut cleanly and left no tear-out on my walnut test pieces.

The taper on these bits is what sold me—it makes the spline joints seat tighter than any straight bit I've tried. I knocked out a whole set of drawer corners in an afternoon, and every fit was spot-on. The cut finish is smooth enough that I barely had to sand before assembly.
