Replacement for 101-630 Smoothing Plane and 101-631 Jack Plane. The 48mm-wide (1.9") blade is made of steel alloy CrV hardened and tempered to 58HRC. The blade is coated with oil and delivered in shrink wrap. The durability of the blade and sharpeness is significantly extended (it is not necessary to sharpen the blade. Includes chipbreaker.

The CrV steel took an edge right out of the box, and at 58HRC it’s held it through a full afternoon of planing oak without a touch-up. The 48mm width fits my 101-630 perfectly, and the oil coating kept it rust-free during shipping.

Fit perfectly in my 101-630 plane, and the hardened steel held its edge through several board feet of oak. The included chipbreaker aligns easily, though I wish the blade came with a slight micro-bevel from the factory.
