Dowel joinery is one of the strongest and widely used construction methods available to woodworkers. Very popular for joining two workpieces where added strength is desireable, the dowel (a round piece of pre-cut wood) is inserted into a mating hole that is usually drilled with the help of a jig. Some woodworkers use dowels in place of mortise & tenon joints because they are usually faster and easier to accomplish. Making a strong dowel joint requires the two mating holes to be machined accurately or the joint will not be aligned. This JessEm complete doweling system takes dowel joint making to a new level.

This clever jig and included accessories make quick work of accurate and repeatable dowel joinery. Precision CNC machined surfaces with laser engraved quick-read reference marks allow you to make 1/4", 3/8" and 1/2" dowel holes on the end or face of your work piece. Locations of dowels can be pre-set in 1/8" increments, perfect for creating multiple dowel hole configurations. Built-in alignment slot allows you to match-up dowel holes that are spaced further apart for perfectly aligned dowel holes. The jig is hard anodized for durability in your shop or on the job site and it's sure to see plenty of use whenever a stong mechanical joint is needed on your build.
