Category: Router Bits

Inspired by Colonial Williamsburg Furniture of the 17th and 18th centuries, these 7 router bits are ideal for making period furniture molding, panel molding, waist moldings and more. Similar to actual moldings found in homes of this period, they would have originally been made with scratch stocks or molding planes but now they can be created using the router.

These router bit profiles take inspiration from several specific design periods. Some of these designs can find roots as far back as the 17th-century period of American furniture as well as the Baroque period and carry right on into the Queen Ann and Neoclassical/Federal periods. In short, if you appreciate classic American furniture and architectural millwork, this is a must-have set.

You can purchase the bits individually or pick up the entire set for one great price and received a complimentary wooden box to store them!

The profile on this base board endcap bit is incredibly crisp—it cut cleanly through hard maple without any burning. I ran it on a test piece and the colonial detail came out perfectly defined.

Jacob A. ★★★★★

I was a bit nervous about the depth of cut on this bit, but it handled the hard maple beautifully without any burning. The 1/2" shank definitely kept it stable and true through my router table.

The cut profile on this bit matches the 18th-century baseboard endcaps I’ve been trying to replicate for months—clean, crisp lines even in red oak. The 1/2" shank ran steady through a table-mounted router without any chatter, which surprised me for a bit this intricate. Already eyeballing the matchi
